Myakka River State park (Day 14 - 2/6/19)

Come on fish work with me here
After leaving De Soto County park we drove south over the Tampa Bay bridge and on to Myakka State Park. This park does not disappoint.  The camp sites are pristine as are the bath rooms with showers. When we arrived we found our site and then drove into the park to the bird walk which is an elevated walkway into upper Myakka Lake. We got to the viewing platform in time to see a Great Blue Heron having a late lunch. It took him about 20 minutes to cox the fish into his gullet head first. It was amazing to watch.

Note the lump on his neck :)

Down the hatch

So somedays you are the fish and on good days you are the heron :)

We used the instant pot for the first time on the trip. We had gotten chicken, peppers and some frozen corn to use with a package that contains quinoa, brown rice and spices. It turned out great!
