Florida 2025 - Blue Spring SP site 32 - Day 17 (Jan 31 2025)

As a manatee swims it creates footprints on the surface, caused by their tail.

Michelle, Doug, Lonny, Cathy, Irene and I went on the 2 hour cruise on the St John's river and saw a ton of wildlife. It was a great 2 hours.

Lonny and Cathy arrived and we played 5 crowns with them. As is the usual a newbie, Cathy, won.

Doug and Michelle arrived and we played 5 crowns and showed them around the park.

A couple of Garr, they are very interesting looking fish.

We stopped at Pepboys and had a hole drilled in the swing away so it would drain water that has been collecting in there. It seems to have worked as I had hoped.

Finally replaced the blinking ceiling lights! As with a lot of things it turns out it was easier than I had feared.

Each morning a manatee researcher goes into the river from the spring to count manatees and determine if there are any issues that need to be looked into.

This weekend there was a manatee festival that was at both the state park and Valentine park down the road. The booths at the state park had great information about the manatees and other environmental topics.

Irene did the bounce ride at the festival and did several flips in the air, she is amazing.

Another chilly day, we went to the Publix parking lot for work. Another day just hanging out in the van. We made peas and pasta for dinner :)

Kathy found that we had a frozen pipe so I called jason and he helped us out. Kathy cleaned up most of the water. What a saint!

 The weather was still chilly so we stayed in the van, I had meetings and we took naps.

We left Huguenot late morning and drove over to Orange City and had lunch at burger king. I had been thinking about a whopper with cheese for a while. We hung out a bit in the parking lot waiting to go to Blue Spring SP to check in. Once settled we took a walk to see the manatees.
