Florida Meetup Trip 2024 - Home (Day 52 - Mar 16, 2024)

Started my remaining trip around 7am and arrived home just after 5pm. A good driving day, light traffic around DC and clear skys.

 

Florida Meetup Trip 2024 - Rocky Mount Mills (Day 51 - Mar 15, 2024)

I left Lake Louisa at 6:30am and drove through Orlando taking I-4 to I-95 in Daytona then headed North. Ended my day in Rocky Mount NC at a Harvest Host at Rocky Mount Mills. Kathy has a favorite brewery there, HopFly. They had a delicious Hazy IPA.

I learned today how to program my watch to do interval running training. Attempted a 6x repeat of 1/8 mile runs but only made 3. But a good start.

Florida Meetup Trip 2024 - Lake Louisa 10 (Day 47 - Mar 11, 2024)

Another wonderful sunset turns red 

 This avocado looked great but unfortunately was hard as a rock on the inside.

 Finished off meat balls and mozzarella cheese, yum.

 I broke the 10 minute mile mark by 15 seconds! It was tough but I felt good, I think the bridging exercises i have been doing helped with the pain in the butt that was messing with my stride.

My first full day without my wonderful Irene, I started the book Irene got me for Christmas, spent time on the doc photographing birds including an eagle! I also walked around Dixie Lake and a pretty good clip. Saw on the lake and as well on the walk a Swallow-tailed Kite.

My wonderful sandles blew out so I found a sanuk store at Disney Springs. After dropping Irene at the airport I went over and spent the morning wandering around and purchased a new pair that are super comfortable. Speaking of Irene her trip home turned out to be super long due to missing her connection in Atlanta.

 

Florida Meetup Trip 2024 - Lake Louisa 10 (Day 44 - Mar 8, 2024)

Irene loves her some Lantana and there is a ton of it around here. It grows in big bushes.

We took a long walk and it was super hot, around 3 miles to smoke house lake.

 Another spectacular sunset. After the sunset we took off to spend the night near the airport at a cracker barrel. We had dinner at the Outback next door.

 

Florida Meetup Trip 2024 - Lake Louisa 10 (Day 43 - Mar 7, 2024)

Sunset was again amazing, multiple people left and before the red came out. This was 14 minutes after sunset at 6:44, sunset was 6:30, Dixie Lake.

During the day we went into Clermont for a Publix run and to mail a get well card to Lonny who had his knee replaced this week. We sadly found out that a dear friend Chris passed away from Ovarian Cancer. She was a wonderful human, we spent time with her in South Africa on a safari she organized.

What an amazing sunset tonight.  We went down it started slow but then just got better and better.

Irene throught it was funny since from her side of the rummy cube table I looked Naked.
