Morro Bay 2025 Meetup - Day 34 (10-31-25) - Valley of the Gods - BLM

We left our BLM site 37.74646° N, 110.91302° W and drove the remaining portion of the Burr Trail that started out a little boring but then got quite scenic again before joining route 276. We headed down to the marina, found some water to fill the tank at a gas station. We then headed up 276 to 95. 95 was mind blowingly beautiful. We ended up the day at the Valley of the Gods one of our favorite places.

On our way to the Valley of the Gods we drove down the Moki Dugway, enjoy this video of that drive:

Morro Bay 2025 Meetup - Day 33 (10-30-25) - Capital Reef - BLM

We left our BLM site near Torrey and headed south on SR 12 to Boulder in order to take the Burr Trail through the water pocket fold of Capital Reef NP. There were two highlights of the Burr Trail: driving through red canyons and the switchbacks.

Morro Bay 2025 Meetup - Day 32 (10-29-25) - Capital Reef - BLM outside Torrey Utah

We had an action packed day. Starting with dumping tanks and filling water. I had a call while Irene went to the Gifford house for a cinnamon roll and some pies.
We then drove out the scenic road all the way to the end. Then we hiked out to the Fruita overlook through Cohab canyon then later we hiked to Hickman Bridge. Ending our day at Rim Rock Patio for a wonderful pizza.

Morro Bay 2025 Meetup - Day 31 (10-28-25) - Capital Reef - Fruita CG SP site 65

Today we drove the incredibally scenic SR 12 from Cannonville UT to Torrey UT then a short distance on SR 24 to Capital Reef NP. We caught a ranger talk about the geology of Capital Reef which was amazing. We cooked white rice and pulled pork for dinner.
