A couple of Days in the Fingerlakes (Day 2 - Sept 26, 2020)

Woke to another spectacular day, I took a walk around the vineyard down the hill to get a better view of Seneca lake. Came across the golf course that provided a very satisfying view. Our intent was to go to Watkins Glens SP and hike but it was way to crowded even at 10am when we drove by. So I did a quick search and found a small town park about 6 miles south near Montour Falls. Short but very pretty hike. Then we headed to Keuka lake for our evening at Heron Hill Winery.

Northampton Beach State Park (Day 3 - September 15, 2020)

Worked the first part of the day and then Irene and I went for a ride to Northville and then up route 30 to Wells. Drove around lake Algonquin. Looking at the battery levels, arrived back to camp at 13.34 and it seemed to drop very little before bed. Kept the inverter off and woke to 13.13. Kept volt start off and ran microwave several times. Just before leaving on the 16th voltage was at 13.03. Very pleased with the performance.

New battery below, looking nice and clean.

Northampton Beach State Park (Day 2 - September 14, 2020)

Today is the big day where Amelia gets her batteries upgraded from H to L3! This is a big investment that I hope pays off in the long run. Arrived at Alpin Haus a little after 8 and met with Lance to discuss the surgery. Amelia was on the lift for about 4 hours. Her cable ends where cleaned and the two batteries were replaced.

Hymer Friends Trip (Day 12 - July 18, 2020)

Started the day with a hike along the Atlantic ocean near our campground. Roland was nice to give us all a ride in their van to the trail head so we didn't have to walk the road again. Fog was heavy over the water and the rocky coastline is beautiful. Susan and Ned briefly saw a seal pop his head up out in the water.

After returning from the hike and a little shopping for eggs, bacon and dinner fare the cooking of breakfast commenced with scrambled eggs, fried purple potato, eggo waffles and bloody marys.

In the afternoon we biked on carriage trails around Eagle Lake. One big climb but the rest pretty much flat or down hill. All survived :)

On to Thunder Hole from Eagle Lake

Final stop of the day happy hour turned dinner at Seafood Katch in Bass Harbor.

Winery At Marjim Manor

Joined our friends Roland and Laura for an overnight at a winery in Appleton NY, right on the shores of Lake Ontario. The spot was wonderful. The owners were great, we had a fun wine tasking including ghost stories of the building being haunted by a former resident who was accidentally killed in the home.

A large expanse to park in and a walk through the orchards to the lake. The weather could not have been better, a perfect evening. We even did some blue whale testing!

Last Day - Rochester, NY (Day 37 - 2/23/20)

A long day of driving from Raleigh to Rochester. Took a little over 12 hours arriving home around 8:30. Great day for a drive, clear light traffic except around DC. Stopped for a short break just west of Harrisburg at Fort Hunter Memorial park. Had a great conversation with a guy interested in the Hymer.

We thought we saw Sparky the Firetruck @sparky_the_firetruck on Instagram. We had met them in Florida last year in their 1985 imported Mercedes Volunteer Firetruck. But turns out there are a few of them in the country and it was not them after all, they are currently in California.
